Climbing inspection of a Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus).

After a walk around the grounds and subsequent quotation for works this new client instructed us to carry out a climbing inspection on this wonderful, large, very large Sycamore on the outskirts of Canterbury. The tree has a huge spread and is significant in it’s surroundings, under the tree there is an old granary with very fragile Kent Peg tiles on the roof.

We had two qualified Arborists (Joe & Phil) up this tree, climbing around, removing any large pieces of deadwood and damaged branches. Points of concern were photographed and then issued in a repot to the client detailing what needs to be done and prioritising. Chester took care of the climbers needs from the ground, making sure ropes were free to run and saws were fuelled up ready for use.

The tree was climbed using traditional rope and harness methods, making use of modern SRT (single rope technique) devices to make the working day more efficient for the climbers
