Dangerous Silver birch (Betula pendula) takedown

A regular client had noticed a degree of movement in the root system of this medium sized tree in Canterbury. She called us and we decided the tree was unsafe and needed to come down. We attended sit along with a MEWP (cherry picker) and safely took the tree down piece by piece in a safe controlled manner.

The garden has lost several trees over the last few years, it’s in an exposed position and I think there is cause to believe that there is Honey Fungus (Armillaria spp) present.

We used a tracked 17metre MEWP for the contract and in order to keep costs down for our clients managed to use it on two jobs in the same area on the same day, spreading the cost between two separate clients
